Setup Email with a Cargo Domain



Cargo does not host email. To set up email with a domain purchased from Cargo, you will need to edit your domain’s DNS MX records and have an email host to point them to.

There are many 3rd party services that offer email hosting as a service, here are a few suggestions:

︎Fastmail ($10/yr)
︎Google ($5/mo)
︎Pobox ($20/yr)
︎Zoho (free)

Each email host will have their own process for pointing your domain's mail records to them. You can add MX records to your domain in the Cargo DNS Editor through the Cargo Admin: → Manage Your Domains.

Add a new record by clicking New and choosing MX in the record type column. Copy and paste each record as provided by your email host, which should look similar to the example below.



Note: After a domain’s DNS records are changed, it can take some time for these changes to propagate across the entire internet. This process can take up to 48 hours, although it is typically much faster.
